A Good Idea

This wasn't bad at all. I think the title is pretty clever, and the music definitely makes it what it is.

The 3D elements looks a little rough around the edges but that didn't really bug me too much. I would have liked to have seen a little more detail and care gone into the 2D characters and such, but there wasn't anything that was painfully obvious and screaming to be fixed, so all in all, I think you've done a pretty good job with this.

Like I said, the choice of song was superb and really helped to put the emotion into the animation.

Good job, keep it up!

Thanks for your comment :D

I didn't put so much detail on the 2D characters because I wanted them to look "chidlish" ;)

But THANKS for your comment, and have a nice day :D

I Lol'd So Fucking Hard

I seriously didn't see this coming, but oh what a wonderful thing it is!

I'm sitting here thinking to myself "must write constructive review" but honestly, I don't know if I can, this animation has just managed to tickle me in exactly the right way.

The sound and concept is just great, and I definitely should commend you on the choice of music. I think the only thing I thought was off was how smooth it ran. I played with the quality and refreshed my browser a few times, but just every now and again I noticed it got just a little choppy. It really was barely noticeable though.

Great job man, you've made my day!

Fav'd, 5/5, all that good stuff.

Short But Sweet

I didn't really know what to make of this just going by the title, but after watching it, I think its very appropriate.

I must admit I was rather unimpressed with the beginning. I didn't understand why Hank was reading about achievements, the sound was off, and the voice acting was less than satisfactory in my opinion.

Thankfully it soon picked up, and everything vastly improved. The animation seemed a little choppy in places, and generally not particularly smooth, but it wasn't anything major. The colour was good and some of the changes in the style of art, like when Hank and Clown clash really popped out for me.
The sound also took a good step in the right direction.

Generally I cant say this is anything special, but it's an idea I haven't seen before, with some pleasing art, and sometimes very satisfying sound effects, so I really cant complain.

Good job! Keep working on improving, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next year.

Yup, intro somewhat sucked as time ran out :/ Glad you liked the action though :D

Interesting To Watch

I was very intrigued by this, having never seen any of the previous sketch collabs, so I didn't know quite what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with what I found.

A project dedicated to giving life to doodles from workbooks might not seem like a great idea but you guys really pulled it off well. The way everything flowed smoothly and transitions from one artist to the next was fun and interesting to watch.

You got a good balance of styles in, and with each artist's section being so diverse, I'd say you've managed to include a little something for everyone.
That being said, I felt that it was a little rough around the edges. Sometimes the animation wasn't particularly smooth, or the drawing just needed to be tidied up a little. I wont name any names, but I feel if you'd waited just a little longer and made some refining touches, it would have really helped.

Also, I like the choice of song, but the sound quality itself was a little off. Maybe you had some audio issues, maybe the file was just low quality, who knows? But try to take that into consideration for the next collab.

Other than that, great work guys! I really enjoyed it, and I look forward to watching the next one!

It was clock day after all...

Okay, I really don't like clock day, so it's always difficult for me to review things like this, because usually, there's hardly anything to comment on.

The animation was poor. There's no way around that, it was just a mess with minimal effort, but then it was clock day, so, it doesn't really surprise me.

Typical to clock day submissions, the voice was, well, typical. It's exactly what I expected, so, good job I guess. The explosion sound at the end was poor.

I really cant put too much detail into this review because I just cant take animations like these seriously, HOWEVER, I'm actually glad you submitted this.
Lots of people who come to NG have no idea what the clock crew or clock day is about, and although I personally don't enjoy it, I still get a sense of nostalgia from it. I was around on Newgrounds when "B" was first submitted, and despite not having an account, I can appreciate that it's part of the site's history.

So, good job on submitting something genuinely informative. Unfortunately, typical to clock crew style, the animation itself was poor.

Haggard responds:

Yes, the animation is crap. If I had a bit more time maybe the "talking" of the penguin would've been a lot better.

Oddly Captivating

As I sat watching this I found myself being strangely drawn into it. Now I can identify the flaws involved, and we'll get to that later, however, despite all the other distractions happening around me, my attention never strayed. So, from the off, you've already ticked the box for maintaining your audience's interest!

The story itself was unique to say the least. It's a simple idea with humour sprawled across it, and manages to remain entertaining. I've never seen characters quite like these, or at least not all together. I wouldn't say they're the deepest characters in the world, however, there's plenty of room for development in future works, and each is unique and appealing.

A few things to improve upon:
I felt like it could have had more detail. Some of the backgrounds were a little plain, which isn't a major problem for what it is, but it just would have been nice to see a little more detail in them.
The animation itself was okay, but could have been more finely tuned, if that makes sense. Just little changes could have helped it all to flow a little more smoothly.
The voice acting didn't quite cut it for me. Maybe that's down to personal preference, but it's something you might want to think about.

Now, the sound itself was okay. The various effects were good quality, no spikes in the audio etc. I have one or two gripes involving some of the dialogue, just because I felt it could have been slightly louder, but again, these are all just minor faults that don't really take away from the whole too much.

All in all, I give a solid seven. A good entry, very entertaining, but just a little rough around the edges.
I'm certainly looking forward to seeing more!

GristlyBear responds:

As a test of sorts, I agree it was kind of rough. The "focus" (if I had to name one) was the frame by frame animation that happened every now and then. Hopefully I'll be able to focus on the other aspects on future submissions.

Thanks for the review!
